Faculty of Economics and Commerce

Credit

Credit is available to students who have already completed some University study. Gaining credit reduces the amount of time it takes to complete a degree.

Credit may be granted if you have completed subjects equivalent in content and standard to those taught as part of the Bachelor of Commerce. For example if you have completed University level subjects (eg. UMEP) as part of your VCE or have completed degree studies at another University you may gain credit toward your degree. Subjects that are considered equivalent to those available for study in the Bachelor of Commerce will normally be approved for credit. Being granted credit means that you need to complete fewer subjects to satisfy the requirements of the degree.

I believe I am eligible for credit, what should I do?

If you believe you are eligible for credit you should consult the Faculty's Credit Policy for Undergraduate Courses (PDF, 62kb). You can then apply for credit by completing the Application for Credit/Exemption (PDF, 79kb). Any credit you receive will be confirmed in writing.

Application forms are also available from the Commerce Student Centre.
